  • PIO for Wife

    Hello All,

I am applying for my PIO card. I am a US naturalized citizen with an Indian Passport (origin).

    1) The PIO application asks for a copy of my green card / I93 form, etc. I do not have any of these documents. I've had an attorney create an affidavit indicating I had to give my up my green card when I became a citizen and in addition, copy of I93 has been requested from the US government. Will this help in fulfilling this requirement?

    2) My wife was born in the UK and she has both UK and USA passports now. The consulte website for San Francisco does not clearly indicate what the process is for spouse requesting a PIO card other than marriage certificate. Does she have to fill the same PIO application as myself? If so, can I submit her application along with mine?

    Thank you in advance!

      Section 13 of PIO App

Thank you for your feedback, however, as I stated in my statement below I do not have any of the supporting documents requested in the app:

      1) Green card - it was turned over when I became a US citizen
      2) EAD - N/A
      3) Original Indian Passport used to enter USA: I no longer have this as the pariticular Indian passport was lost and SF Consulate had issues another Indian passport back in the early 1990s.
      4) Original I-130, I do not have this however I've requested this from the US Government and this can take up to 2 years to receive if they find it.

An attorney who originally assist in attaining the US Citizen has written a letter for me indicating they use to have my records (i.e. copy of my Greencard) but they discarded as they were outside the 10 year record keeping law.

      Any recommendations?
