Entry VISA - 5 years versus 1 year

Anyone applied for a 5 year multiple entry VISA to India recently ?
TRAVISA shows a choice of the following three terms:
1. 6 months
2. 1 year
3. 5 years

Given the delays in processing OCI applications in Houston, wondering if it would be better to apply for a 5 year multiple entry, versus a shorter term VISA. Any more factors to consider/be aware of when applying for a 5 year VISA when compared to applying for a 6 month or a 1 year multiple entry VISA ?
