Should OCI photo have white or plain light color background?

I'm in the process of applying for OCI from US and needed some clarification on the photo requirements (ideally from someone who applied recently). The Government of India website states that the photo should have "plain light color background (not white)" but the VFS Global website states that the "background should be a plain white background". So... which is it? I got some photos from Walgreens that have a white background. Are they going to cause issues? Thanks in advance!

PP taken from Walgreens or CVS is accepted. We did it recently and it was accepted by VFS
