Folks,
I did send mine and my wife's passports to be Cancelled alongwith aplications for OCI to General Consulate, NY on November 20th. The big packege was recieved by GC-NY on November 22nd.
On December 2nd, we did recieve an email from GC (OCI cell) that our OCI application has been recieved and being processed.
It has been almost 6 weeks we have not recieved our cancelled passport/certificate. Not sure if we should be concerned of this delay or this is just normal for the passports out to be cancelled sitting at NYGC for these many weeks.
It would be very helpful to read through your experiences or anyone from this forum has same situation and could share some insight about this passport cancellation delay thing.
Should we be contacting GC-NY to find out whereabouts of our Passports or still this is too early to bug them?
Kindly share your Experience/Suggestion.
