OCI 20+ question

Hi My son got his OCI Card when he is 18. His passport got expired when he is 19 and got a new passport when he is 19. Now he 23 still have the same passport. So Can he travel to India which just passport update. On his next new passport ( probably when he is as 29 ) does he need to get new OCI card or just link new passport with exitsting OCI card.

I will be travelling to india in 1 month, i had my oci renewed(or whatever they call it as) when i was 52 by uploading passport/photo to oci website, got ack that they received and 1 month later it got updated. Can i travel safe or will the travel desk stop me from going to india. I thought the OCI has to be renewed physically
