Renunciation of India Citizenship

My passport bears the stamp: "cancelled due to acquiring foreign nationality". But it does not have a date on it. I need to apply for OCI.
But per VFS there has to be a date next to the stamp: "cancelled due to acquiring foreign nationality". They are asking me to re apply.

This does not make sense as all my other family members did not have a date next to the stamp and they did not have a problem applying for OCI.

Please advise.
