Hi, I recently completed my OCI application in the United States, but I made a mistake in the last step and entered the wrong passport expiration date on the VFS registration form. Everything else, including my online OCI application, is correct. I noticed the error after paying the fees, and when I contacted VFS, they told me I need to apply for a refund and that there’s no way to correct this mistake. They advised me to redo the entire application.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do? Did you reuse the same government application?
Is it worth submitting it anyway, given that the mistake is on the VFS form and not on the official Indian government application? If they can accept a cover letter for issues like having a long last name, shouldn’t they be able to accommodate a small change like this as well?
