Question on travelling to India

My husband is a Indian citizen with Indian passport and he is a permanent resident in the US (green card).
We plan to travel to India for a month or so.

1. Does he need a visa to enter India?
2. Does he need to apply for any kind of visa to return back to US after the trip?
