    Hi-

Please could you kindly advise me. I am a british born citizen, however my mothers place of is India (Mumbai) though she has been living in the UK for over 30 years now, she still holds an Indian Passport and frequently travel to India every year.

I have also been traveling with my mother to India for many years. But everytime I travel, I am required to obtain a Visa.

I would like to know to what are the exact requirements for applying for a PIO card. According to the information of eligibility on "hcilondon.org" it states clearly that:

"he/she or either of his/her parents or grandparents or great grandparents was born in and permanently resident in India as defined in the Government of India Act, 1935 and other territories that became part of India thereafter provided neither was at any time a citizen of any country as may be specified by the Central Government from time to time"

From this I understand that at least one of the parents should be born in India.

Please could you advise me what would be the best option for me, and whether I should apply for a PIO card or a OCI.

    Thanks,
