H1 Visa and Passport renewal

Hello All,

My H1B is expiring on 01 Aug 2011 and my Indian passport is expiring on 18 Sept 2011. How should I go about renewing both? Should I first renew my passport before my company renews my H1B? Or should H1B be renewed and then the passport? If so would I then need to carry 2 passports when I go for H1 renewal stamping?

You can apply for passport renewal right away as it can be done 1 year before expiration. H1 petition extension has little to do with the passport. So, they can be done in parallel. When you travel or visit the consulate, carry both the passports as they would need to stamp the visa CWOP while issuing new visa.
