PIO - Original Passport

When applying for PIO, SFO states we MUST submit US Passport in Original
This is scary especially if SFO does not take any ownership after they receive it such as providing a tracking number on the case, responding to email queries, phones, faxes etc

Any comments? IS there any better practice from our end we could do or any workarounds

Well, as they ask for original passport, you have to provide it. There is no better choice.
