Greetings,
In April 2010 I visited India to research business opportunities and for general tourism. While in the state of Orissa I was constantly harassed by an individual outside my hotel room. I believe this individual was attempting to sell me illegal drugs called "ganga". After the third time I became very upset and we exchanged words and almost had a physical confrontation. later that evening the hotel manager told me that the guy was looking to cause me trouble, so I changed my hotel location.
Three days later I left India without incident. However; when leaving Dubai for my final destination I was detained by local airport staff. After 1 hour I saw an airport security staff member speak to an Indian national. I do not know what was said, but I was then allowed to bored the aircraft. When I arrived in the USA I was sent to secondary screening and my cell phone briefly confiscated. The numbers in the address book were copied.
My question is... Can I return to India now, or is there a legal issue preventing my return? Obviously this individual must have made a complaint against me. I am more than willing to meet with the Indian police if necessary. I would like to return to India soon, but would like to know if I will need to address any legal issues.
