Following two are the Eligibility criterias for Minors for OCI as per Indian Consulate General Website.
•Minor (Less than 18 years) children, who got foreign citizenship, but whose parents are Indian Citizens are not eligible for OCI Card. However they are eligible for PIO card.
•Minor children, whose parents are qualified for OCI card, are qualified for the OCI card.
What does the first condition mean "Who got foreign Citizenship" ? Does this mean for minors born in India, but migrated to US and took US citizenship ?
This is really confusing. How about the Minors born in US and by birth, they are the US citizen and parents are citizen by Naturalization. Are these Kids eligible for OCI cards ( according to the 2nd condition as above ) ? ( As per Immihelp.com ), they are not eligible, but i am getting confused by the statements mentioned in Indian Consualte website. Any clarification is much appreciate. Thank You for your comments in advance.
