Name change on Indian PAssport

Hello,

I just have my first name on my Indian passport and because of that my visa has FNU Vaibhav as my name. FNU Vaibhav is the name on my petition papers (i29S , i797) and i94 too.

I want to get my name changed in my passport and have asked the procedure to the Indian Embassy in NY.

But I am not sure and there is no information that after getting the new passport , can I continue to stay in US till my i94 is valid?
Do I need to get anything changed in i94 and petition papers?

You will have to go through the legal name change.

After that, you can still continue to stay till your I-94 is valid. Those papers do not need to be changed.
