Indian citizenship for a us born child to indian parents

Hi,

We are currently in the US and awaiting our baby.
We both are Indians and will be settling in India in the near future. So, we want both INDIAN & US citizenship for the newborn. Is it possible? If yes, what are the procedures for that?
Will dual citizenship affect my child's studies in India?
And also what are the procedures for acquiring an Indian Passport for our child born in the US without applying for an US Passport?

We are totally confused about the decision whether getting dual citizenship or an Indian Passport alone.

Kindly help me in this.

India doesn't allow dual citizenship. Period. Even if you get your child an Indian PP. He/She would still not be able to enjoy best of the both worlds as he/she would have to renounce one.
