Applying for PIO card while in India

My son is born here and we got 1 year Visa for him because we need to go India urgently. Is it possible to apply for PIO card for him while he stays there? In the section of PIO card on immihelp it was written that long term (more than a year) visa holders can apply for PIO card while in India. Please suggest what can we do our best for his PIO card?

Hi my son and my wife is going to India for 6 months and thinking to prolong their stay if possible with visa regulations. I am on H1b, my wife on H4. Please suggest.
