want to apply passport renewal on I-94

Hi,

I have been working in US for more than 2 years on behalf of Indian company. My L1B visa got expired but currently I am staying and working on I-94 status which valid till Jun-2012.

I want to renew my passport and it is getting expired in June 2012. Please let me know if i can apply passport based on I-94 status as my Visa is already got expired.
