Renewed USA passport and old PIO card

Hi,

My son got the PIO card in 2006 and it is valid up to 2021. Now, in 2011, we had to renew his passport and got a new US passport.

Just noticed that his PIO card mentioned his old USA passport number.

Can I carry the PIO card with both old and new USA passport?

I'm travelling in next 10 days and worried about this..Any response/past experience will assist me...
