India Tourist Visa & Re-entry question

Hi All,

I am a US Citizen and I am holding tourist visas for India. They are valid for 10 more years.

I am visiting India in Jan 2012 and will be returning back to USA in March 2012.

I want to visit Dubai during my this trip. So I will land in India then go to Dubai from India, return to India then leave for USA.

Does the two month No re-entry rule apply to me as I am Tourist Visa holder?

Should I get a re-entry permit from the consulate before I visit India?

I am very confused with Tourist Visa rule that if you are visiting multiple countries on one itinerary then I may be granted multiple entries to India within 2 months of first entering India.

Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, that rule applies to you. You should get reentry permit.
