In the past I have not been asked by either the airline or Indian Immigration to show my green OCI booklet - the OCI stamp in my passport was enough. Recently my son, who has an OCI sticker in his US passport, was denied boarding on a Newark-Mumbai flight as he did not have the green booklet in his possession (it was at home). Is this a new requirement? The airline said that Indian Immigration had returned some travellers who did not have their booklet with them witha fine of $10,000 to the airline for each such passenger.
