Hi, I have applied for PIO card for my wife who is a non-Indian, non-US citizen at SFO consulate.
The application was received by the consulate on the 2nd Jan and immediately sent to the consulate for approval. Now, it has been over 2 months since the application was submitted. The travisa website says that the average PIO approval time is 2 weeks. However for non-US citizens, the time required is at least 6 weeks. Apparently, the application goes to Delhi for approval.
I was wondering if someone was in this situation. How long does it take for non-US citizens.
