Son has PIO Card Parents become US citizens

Hi - My son was born in USA and he is 4 years old. He has PIO card with validity until 2023.He got that PIO card when we(parents) were Green Card holders.Now we (both parents) become USA citizens.Shall we have to apply for OCI card because our citizenship got changed?Can he travel India with PIO card though parents are USA citizens?

PIO card is valid until it expires. But it is better to get OCI which has lifetime validity instead of dealing with changes/renewals/fee increases etc. later.
