Adding US Passport number in PIO card

Hi,

My son is having an US passport since his birth (last 4 years) and going to get a new US passport after his 5th birth day next year. His PIO card is valid for 15 years. Currently his PIO card is having US passport number. Do we need to add his new US passport number next year in his existing PIO card?

Let me know if you anyone already done this.

You have two options:

1. Carry both passports and PIO card when traveling.
2. Get the new passport number added into the PIO card. New
