Passport renewal

This is regarding the renewal of the passport for my mother. My mother is on tourist VISA. I am US citizen and have submitted her application for green card. I noticed that her passport would be expiring soon. Now her application for green card (I-130 and I-485) is with USCIS. Please advice me that how can I renew her passport in this current situation.
