OCI or PIO for US born child

Me and my wife are citizens of India and our son was born in U.S. Since he is a U.S. citizen, we have received his Birth Certificate, SSN & US passport.
Since we may be traveling to India multiple times, could you please suggest which one of the two i.e. OCI or PIO should we apply for our child and what are the potential benefits of the choice you are suggesting. Thanks in anticipation of your help!

Only choice is PIO.

Your child is not eligible for OCI.
