Due to recent ban of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes by Indian government, many people have a question: How much Indian currency can NRIs carry to India?

As I have been to india this March/April, I saw motices saying any Resident & Non-resident (except persons of Pakistani Bangladeshi Origin &and/or living in Pakistan/Bangladesh) can carry Indian Currency 25,000 in cash, & only in new/valid notes.
