Indian Embassy in Chicago - Passport renewal

Hi all:

I have been trying to contact the Indian embassy in Chicago via phone all in vain. I have to get my passport renewed and wanted to go on Jan 21st. Their website does not show that it is a holiday, but I wanted to make sure they are open on 21st Jan. Can anyone please let me know if thereare alternate numbers or if you know for sure if they are open on Jan 21st?

It is really frustrating that we have such an embassy!
