  • Can I get him past the opinions of his friends?

    Hello,

I recently meet a wonderful Punjabi man (I'm white.) and we have amazing
chemistry. He was coming to see me often and things were progressing well when all of a sudden he pulled back. I heard through the grapevine that his roommates and friends are giving him grief over being with a white girl and I'm not sure what to do. I haven't meet any of them, so they are prejudging me based on either my race, my status as a single mother or both. (He has a child from a divorce too.)

Can anyone give me some lines to him that will ease his concerns until I can meet the friends and show them how awesome I am?

    Thank you in advance.

The cultural differences and peer pressure for such a relationship to last takes a huge toll on individuals. Your concerns are valid and so would the same be from his family/friends due to his previous divorce. Divorce is not very common in Indian society and that may have to do with the sudden pullback as it is very common in the western culture.

Try to meet with him/his family/friends and establish your family values and your intent for a long term relationship which matters a lot in such situations.

    Good Luck!

      Thanks

      Thanks txh1b,

But it seems that he has decided not to continue the relationship as I haven't heard from him in a week, not a call or an email.

No point in hanging on to the thoughts of the amazing guy anymore. After all, may be he is not all that amazing.

        Good Luck!
