Need to change the first name

My Passport first name is based on school leaving certificate. But, i would like to change it because it creates so much confusion most of the time. I am gujarati and in school, they add default "BEN" after your first name. Can anyone guide me in the procedure of changing name? I am married and have a marriage certificate with the name i want no "BEN". I have not applied to change last name and added husband's name in the passport.

I completely understand what that is.

But in the U.S., that would be considered a legal name change. You should contact a general attorney who can help you with that.
