Cash deposit here so It's available in India

Hello Everyone,

First of all, my apologies if I'm posting in wrong sectinon. "admin" : you may move this to approriate section.

I'm going to india for 2 months and would like to access to some cash.
My problem is that I receive my income here in usa as cash. So what I'm trying to do is deposit that cash into some type of indian account here so it can be available in India as Rupee or Dollar? Is this even possible? I don't want to wire transfer.

I've heard other tell me that to convert it to cashier check then send it to citi NRI account though NewYork Branch. But I don't want to go though all of that. by the way, i live in los angels so i was hoping citi nri or hsbc was local here to just deposit cash, so it can be available in my citi and hsbc account in india.

Please help andy advise would be greatly appreciated.

does state bank of india (california) allowes what I'm talking about? I was just on their site and seems like if I were to NRI account here in California, I would able to access that same account in india at any branch.

Is this trure? If so, please advise.
