  • Major Medical Insurance with Maternity

Hello! My husband and I are in the process of looking at your quotes online and were curious about options for Maternity coverage. We would like to start trying to have a baby sometime this summer we are currently not pregnant). I am a teacher at a private school and the insurance they offered was too high. My husband is a Seminary student and works part time at a church. So, we ventured out and found insurance with Humana One, which will end in May. However, we dont want to renew with them with Maternity for it would cost $500.00 a month and we would appreciate something lower. I hope you can help us!

    I am located in Texas.

    Thanks,

Look at HTH Global Citizen plan which is underwritten by Unicare and provides maternity coverage.

Hello! Can you explain a little more to me about the Global Citizen Elite Plan?

I see this: Deductible -- Outside U.S. Deductible -- U.S.(In Network) Deductible U.S.(Out-of- Network) Coinsurance Maximum Quote
      (per month)
      Elite Plan: $0 $0 $1,000 $2000 $486.00

So, does that mean we would have a $0 deductible if we paid the $486.00 a month (we would probably pay in full for one year). However, when I look on the details page it says under U.S. in Network (which my doctor and possible OBGYN are included in) "Physician Office Visits (Adult) All except a $30 copay per visit...which I can deal with but then Women: (25 and Older) Routine Pap Smears, annual mammogram, Maternity and other listings say, "80% to Out-of-Pocket Maximum then 100%" so what does that mean if we would have an $0 deductible? My other question is does this plan have a wait to conceive period for we would like to start trying this summer?? Please, let me know!

That means, for those conditions, you will have to pay 20% of the expenses until you pay $2000 out of your pocket. (In other words, 20% for first $10,000 of covered medical expenses.) After that, insurance company will pay 100%.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

So, why have a $0 deductible if I still would have to pay 20%?

Deductible and coinsurance are two separate things.

Deductible is the amount you have to pay first before insurance company will start paying anything at all.

If you choose $500 deductible, you have to pay that first before insurance starts. Then, you have to pay 20% until you pay $3,000 out of your pocket. (That is 80/20 for first $15,000 of medical expenses.)

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Does this company have a wait to conceive period?

Can I see online if my current doctor accepts this insurance?

If you want maternity covered, HTH Global Citizen is the most recommended and most popular plan.

Next is Humana which you already have/had. Humana is available at http://www.domesticinsuranceusa.com/...lth-insurance/
