Hello, I have a question regarding insurance plans for "New Immigrants". I entered the US as a K1 fiance visa-holder from the UK. I then married a US citizen, and have filed for permanent residency with US CIS. As this may take up to a year, what insurance am I eligible for in the meantime? Am I able to take out a "New Immigrant" policy? I would appreciate any comments about this, thanks in advance.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing health insurance.
Yes, you are able to take the insurance in "New Immigrant" category. That is because we call the insurances such as "Visitors Insurance", "New Immigrant Insurance" etc. In reality, they are all same insurance as they are meant for any non-US citizen who would not be eligible for domestic insurance.
You can look at all new immigrant insurance plans at https://www.insubuy.com/new-immigrant-insurance/ In particular, Protection America is an excellent plan. It is widely accepted PPO plan and you can buy it from 5 days to 3 years.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks & Regards
