Renew indian passport before 3 years of expiry

Hi all,
Kindly let me know if I can renew passport before 3 years of its expiry.? as Indian passport site mentions that we can renew before 1 year of its expiry only.
As I am applying for US B1/B2 visa, I need it to extend at least for more 10 years.

You don't need to renew your passport for a B2 visa. Even once the passport expires, the visa will remain valid. You can continue using it by carrying your old passport with the visa and your new passport.
