Urgent : Need help on birth certificate and US passport application : FNU Issue

Hi,

Me and My wife both have the "Surname" field as blank on our Indian passports ,and the complete name (first + last) is printed in the given name field .So as per the standard procedures,the name on US Visa,DL,SSN is printed as below

First Name : FNU
Last Name : ABC XYZ (ABC -> First Name,XYZ -> Last Name).

I did a mistake not to correct this and continued to have it as it is.The situation now is that we are expecting a baby next month and i don't have enough time to change all the documents,as We have to travel to india soon after we have the baby ,as our assignment is going to complete.

I have a confusion on filling out the Parents First name field for me and my wife in the Application for Birth certificate for the new born.Should i use FNU as the first name for both of us ,or ?

Has anyone faced this situation,if so please guide me in this mess.
