Passport renew and Police Verification Report missing

I submitted passport renewal to SFO consulate month back, They were not updating status after multiple email sent for status check, they responded with below email:

We are in receipt of your application for passport with US# xxxxx ; Passport No. YYYY XX

During the process of your application, we found that the Police Verification Report for your above passport was incomplete. You are hereby requested to let us know why the same was not completed earlier. We would be grateful for sending us your response at the earliest to enable us further process your application for re-issue of passport.

Regarding staus for Passport Renewal when "Police Verification Incomplete"

Could you please update on your below status? What was the response you gave to the consulate and where did you give the response? Email only or did you submit any documents?
Also could you please let me know how many days did it take after you got the below email from the Consulate?.

I have received the exact same status after 3 weeks of submission. And it's frustrating. Not sure what is the status now.

I received the exact same email from Consulate General of India, SF.

Any ideas how to respond? I quickly replied to the email. But would that be sufficient. Is there a number we can call them at?

Contacted BLS to no avail

I contacted BLS both by email and phone and they asked me to respond to the email directly. I did not find anything on BLS website too for this state. Clearly they are not prepared for this scenario. I drafted a response stating that Police Verification was conducted for me and asking for further steps to resolve this issue.

It has been sent directly from the Consulate's office. We are not aware of the procedures followed by the Consulate for receiving clearances.

Please address your queries directly to the Consulate's email id for any questions on the same.

ykameshrao - You mentioned that you received your old and renewed passport after you directly replied to Consulate. I am assuming you directly replied to the email from Consulate. Did you also reply anything by mail/post? Did Consulate provide you any acknowledgment/confirmation to your email? Also approx. in how many days after your e-mail reply to consulate, you received your passport?

I'm in the same boat too. I have replied them in the email with mentioning that I remember that the verification was done. Also sent them scanned copies of another older passport, before the current one. Already 5 days past and no response, will update when I get a response.

For those in the same situation, I received both my old and renewed passport after directly replying to Consulate's email. It took approx. 2 weeks after my e-mail reply and I received the passports.

I got same situation today & i m in usa. I did renew 10 years back my passport in Tatkal. I dont recall in detail about police verification as I dont get any ref. doc for that police verification is done. I m not sure what to reply to consulate(SFO) in email.
Any help /input will be great. If any doc need to submit etc. Consulate email has just asked why police verification is incomplete.

We would be grateful for sending us your response at the earliest to enable us further process your application for re-issue of passport.

I replied the email couple of times saying police verification was done when the passport was issued first time. But not yet received any reply from them. I am quite bit nervous what I should do in this case as they have my original passport and don't know how much time they would take to reissue.

Anyone know, what I need to do in this case?
