Validity of Hand Written Passports

Hi,

I have a hand written passport that is still valid till July 2017. I came across an article which indicates that these passports might not be considered as a valid document for travel after 11/24/2015. I have a trip booked to Mexico over the Christmas holidays and was wondering if i can still travel with my hand written passport which was issued by the consultate in San Francisco a few years back. I also have a green card if that makes any difference.

Also, when you replied "Thats correct" did you mean that the passport is no longer valid or did you mean that i can still travel to Mexico? Thanks for your help.
