Cost of child birth (if not Cesarean) will be $3,000 on up (depending on medical facility and any special procedures). The $3,000 amount is probably the lowest you can expect, and the final fees may easily be in the $8,000+ range.

Coverage by insurance will vary, as your insurance plan is likely to have co-payments and/or maximum policy coverage. Keep in mind that the pregnancy may be considered a preexisting condition not covered by a recently-acquired insurance policy.

but what if we get insurance after she moves to US

If your wife is now pregnant and she comes to the U.S. to have the baby, you will find it difficult to obtain medical insurance to cover her pregnancy and childbirth because her pregnancy is a "preexisting condition."

obviously, the cost will vary from one hospital to the next and from one state to the next. So only an estimate can be given. I will say that in my experience child birth cost will be closer to $20,000 if not a natural birth. It's very expensive and insurance WILL NOT cover a visitor to come to the US and give birth. It is a pure loss for an insurance company and none will do it. So, just expect to pay out of pocket for all expenses if you come to the US to have a child.
