Recently Arrived Green Card Holders wishing to leave USA for a short holiday
I have a friend in who arrived in the USA in July 2016. She has PR status based on her father's US citizenship although, at present, her passport is Sri Lankan and she doesn't have an actual green card, only the pr status stamped in her passport. She wishes to come to the UK to visit me for 2-3 weeks. Is she likely to face any difficulties re-entering the USA after her holiday is finished? We heard somewhere that she might have to be continuously resident in America for a year before she is permitted to leave and re-enter the country. Is this true?
