buying/selling property for visa holders

Hi,

I have a general query on buying/selling real estate in USA. I am a H1B visa holder and am planning to buy a house in the US. If say, after 2 years I go back to India then can I rent out my house. Will it be legal? Also, is it possible to sell it once I go back to India and I do not have a valid H1 but a valid visitor visa.

Please help in clarifying the doubts.

If you are sure about going back to india, it makes more sense to buy 2 houses in India next to each other instead of 1 house here. When you go back you can live in one house and rent out the other one for $700 per month. Its a hassle managing a house here from India. In India, you have parents, friends, relatives who could easily manage it for you.
