marriage certificate in India

Hi ..

I have a Indian friend who is currently doing job in Taiwan. His marriage is this month in Bhopal which is in MP -state while he belongs to a city in Maharashtra.

So I wonder what is the procedure to get this marriage certificate, does he get that from bhopal govt office and have to attest that in maharshtra again or he can get marriage cert in local govt office in his own city in maharashtra?

he will need this marriage cert. for wife's Taiwan visa as well as USA visa in nearest future.

Any help would be appreciated in this matter.

Certificate is generally issued in the place the marriage took place. No other endorsements needed from home state.
