Hi, I'm looking for some help, I have no sense of direction.
I'm 22 years of age and have been in a long distance relationship for several years now. We've been meeting up for the past 3 years, I live in England and my girlfriend is from Phoenix, AZ.
The more I read about immigration, the more confusing it becomes and I just don't know where to start, perhaps some background info might help you to help me.
I have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) which can make things harder for me to understand sometimes.
I finished highschool with only three grades on my finals and they were poor to say the least, I got two Ds in dual award science and an F in history, I didn't take any other exams because the school felt it was best to remove me from the classes that gave me problems, as opposed to giving me the help I needed, which left me pretty much crippled when highschool was over.
I'll skip the boring years of unemployment/being rejected for jobs, but now I am in some unpaid culinary program to get me back into a working environment, which does lead to another concern of mine.
I was hoping to immigrate sooner rather than later, as the ends of these visits doesn't get any less painful, having to go months without being around each other. If I were to enter College after the program, it would be anywhere between 3 and 5 years before I could move to Phoenix. But if I can go sooner, I'd have no qualifications beyond an entry level computer literacy certificate from a summer course I took some years back, would this cause problems for me?
So yeah, I have no clue where to begin, what kind of visa is right for me, how to go about applying for it, what else needs to be done, I just have no clue what to do.
