Passport renew & Affidavit for childs passport

Hi,

My passport will expire in 4 months so I'm applying for renewal at DC. At the same time, I would like to apply for sworn affidavit for my child's new passport who is in India now. Can I do both (my passport renew & affidavit for child's new passport) at the same time?
