  • question regarding PIO card

    Hi,

I need to apply for PIO card for my daughter. I found a list of documents needs to be sent to Indian Consulate at Houston. I know I need to fill the application in duplicate. However, do I also need to send duplicate notarized copies of the supporting documents (first 3 and last 3 pages of my, my wife's and my daughter's passport, brith certificate etc)?

Your help will be truely appreciated.

    Thanks,

Thanks, Immihelp for the link. I followed those instructions. However, I have been told by the public notary that she can not notarized the photocopy of birth cerificate (She said that US birth certificates are provided in certified form by the respective states). Is there anyway we can still get the birth certificate photocopy notarized Or Indian consulate can accept just a photocopy of birth certificate.
      Thanks,

Notary can only notarize the signature. Therefore, you make a photocopy of the document, and in front of notary, write that 'I certify that this is a true photocopy of the original' and sign below it and ask her to notarize your signature.

Of course, in order to have space for all that, you will have to make the photocopy smaller than the original paper or just use the bigger paper.
