Arm Liscence surrender after foreign citizenship

I am working as journalist in London, but before that I worked as Crime Reporter in Surat, Gujarat. At the moment I am holding arm (Weapon - Pistol) licence from Commissioner of Police Surat City.

I will apply for British Citizenship in June, so It is OK for me to continue my arm licence? OR I have to surrender the arm licence before getting british Citizenship application.

If possible pl. guide me in this issue.
