I haven't discussed that issue with my family yet, but I'm thinking to get a EB1A green card for my father.
I am US asylee, I am currently on the green card myself and I have 2 years more before getting the citizenship. I am currently UC Berkeley applied math student. I was thinking to file EB1A petition for my father not because I want my get my family reunion sooner, but in sake of my father's experience and his interest in research work (sooner or later I will be able to obtain the GC through family reunion, so it's really not the case, I want him to continue the work, in which he is really interested).
He is one of the top radar scientist from one of the former Soviet countries (for known reasons I don't want to name a specific country). He has only bachelors degree, because the specifics of his field back home needed extensive on ground research and permanent involvement in the lab. He's been heading radar lab in his research institution for more than 10 years. He has publications, awards and was a part of evaluation committee for years as well. Besides that he has high clearance level. He's been working on surveillance systems for number of post-Soviet, African and Asian countries, including China. Again, this list is strictly limited by our national government policy and trade contracts. He is recognised as one of the leading radio-engineers in my home country. I am also doing an internship for NASA JPL radar remote sensing lab and my mentor said that radar scientists with Soviet background are very valuable in that field.
I was wandering what are the chances for him to get EB1A (proof of publications and evaluation work is not a question, but many of his research works are still under clearance and he doesn't have even masters degree, but he's recognisably a leading scientist in that field in my home county) especially taking into account that his daughter is a political asylee in US.

P.S. Another question is because I'm really looking into INVOLVING him in the research and work, how can I find prospective employers and what do I need to do. His English is very intermediate (he can understand and handle written communication, but not verbal, he has a lot of experience with third party interpreter so he is definitely not shy of foreign language environment), I don't mind being a translator. My only experience is limited to undergard studies, so I'm sorry for asking these silly questions. I've been seeing many researchers with the interpreters assistants, so I assume it is something manageable
