Ap/h-1b

Hi friends,

I would like to get some information on using AP when you are on H-1B. I am planning to go to India in the month of May this year. I have AP with me. If I do not get my H-1B visa can I come to US using AP. what happens to my H-1B status then? Please shed some light on this.
