Hello,
Here is my situation:
I am currently on H1B visa status with my current employer valid until april, 2016. My current employer had filed for my Green Card (LC PERM) under EB-3 category in January 2008. My priority date was January 2008. Recently, my company agreed to re-file my GC in EB-2 category since I now qualify for the same. I had confirmed with my lawyer that my priority date would remain the same even after refiling the LC PERM in EB-2 category. The lawyer is in the process of preparing the application for the EB-2 category LC PERM.
My Question:
If I choose to change my employer in a few months, say after receiving my I-140 approval, would the new employer have to file for my GC again from scratch. What would be the impact of changing the company on the GC processing at this stage.
