PERM filled end of 6th year

Hi gurus.

My employer filled my PERM almost at the end of my 6th year. The employer is suggesting I work in USA till the end of my H1b with all recapture time and then work from India. Once the PERM and I-140 are approved he will file for an extension of H1-B.

Do you guys think this is feasible? Do you see any issues with this? One of my friends was asking how can I get an extension on a full used / expired H1-B?

Generally folks leave a few weeks before the 6th Year completion then they request for recapture + Extension based on Perm filed one Year/or I140 Approved.
