  • Drafting the right job role for EB2

    Hi all,

My background: I am a Software Product Manager with over 12 years of relevant experience. I have a US-equivalent of a Bachelors degree (from my hometown). I am not a resident of the United States and have never worked there.

The Situation: My company wants to apply for an H1B visa for me this year. They also want to apply for my EB2 (this, as you know, is independent of whether I get an H1 or not). I need to draft out a job description for myself. This job description should do two things:

    1) Ensure a strong case for my EB2 application
    2) Match my job role so that my boss pays me what I deserve (i.e. market salary)

On point #2, my boss is inclined to tweak the job description so that it falls under a lower salary bracket.

Anyone know of a site I could look at to create a good job description for the US market? I've been looking at glassdoor.com and payscale.com.

Any other suggestions are also welcome.

    TIA

mkai...where are you from??....google search jobs and your first hit should be "monster.com" You'll find a ton of jobs to look at...and many of them will list what they'll pay you (although more than half wouldn't). But you'll get to see many more jobs and descriptions.
