My company has asked me to sign a tenure agreement for one or possibly two years, now that they have started the labor certification process. Considering that they already made me wait one year before starting the process, I think that a two-year agreement is a little excessive.
I have exhausted my 6 years of H1B. My employment with my current company is through H1B extension based on an approved I-140 from my previous company.
Do you think I should try to negotiate with them a little bit on this? Or is signing such contracts normal practice? My previous company never asked me to sign any contract. I am in the civil engineering industry, if that helps.
